The Car Park Issue, and Urgent Surgery Premises Relocation.
This was going to be the New Year’s Resolution and a Health Promotion Issue, delivered from our shiny new building but given the delay from teething issues and the chaos that seems to have ensued with the car parking at our new Ore Clinic Site, we have to address this as a priority. We also have to do an urgent relocation of the Harold Road Clinics From Monday 23/2/26.
The Car Park at the ore site (red arrow) is FREE for patients attending the surgery, either to drop things off or for appointments, BUT ONLY IF YOU REGISTER YOUR REGISTRATION IN THE PARKING POD (blue arrow). You have plenty of time for your appointment even if we are running late and to go to the pharmacy after. The pod was deliberately located in the waiting room rather than the entrance to prevent theft (it can’t be locked) and to prevent village shoppers nipping in on the way to the takeaway and Tesco’s (something that some parking ticket recipients have already admitted to). If you have had an unfair parking ticket, please contact the company and please bring the parking notice to the surgery, we will take the details and also email the parking agent. We do not own the Car Park and we do not operate the parking monitoring.
We have had complaints there are no signs, but in reality if you are unable to see the signs, it may be an indication that driving to the surgery may not be the best option.
The next Premises Problem is water related. Unfortunately, with unrelenting rain for so long now, the roof at the Harold Road site that has been increasingly leaky for months. It has now had so many leaks that we have struggled to keep up with the buckets and bowls at times. We have had to shut the main waiting room. For patient and staff safety we are urgently moving clinics to the Fairlight Road site (green arrow). The Dispensary will be at the Fairlight Road site until further notice.
21 Fairlight Road, Ore.
On a more positive note the Ore clinic officially opened on the 1st December, Dr Parker cut the ribbon and we hosted a buffet lunch for patients who expressed an interest, in the survey from Issue 11, for a first look at the building and to give their impressions. These patient may have an interest in an in-person Patient Participation Group.
picture from opening.
The in person first impressions were:
- Car park an improvement on previous facilities.
- Waiting room bright and clean but small and a bit crowded.
- Quality of clinical rooms is very good, clean and fit for purpose.
- Good wheelchair access.
Thank you to everyone that attended.
The results of the issue 11 Access survey were:
We will do a more in depth issue with what is new in health screening, Technology, vaccination programmes and advice for spring in a couple of weeks time, in March with a longer issue. We will also have information on the format of how we propose the Patient Participation Group will continue in the future. We will be asking for your feedback with the options.
